I am Paul Pelzl, a Ph.D. candidate at VU Amsterdam and Tinbergen Institute, under the supervision of Prof. Steven Poelhekke.
My primary research interests are financial intermediation and development economics. In my PhD dissertation, I study the impact of macroeconomic shocks on financial and non-financial firms using highly granular micro-data. My job market paper highlights a novel link between bank capital regulations and lending to the corporate sector in periods of financial distress.
I will be available for job interviews at the European Job Market meeting on December 6-7 in Naples. If necessary, I will also attend the ASSA meetings on January 4-6 in Atlanta. On this website you can find out more about my academic research, my CV, my teaching experience and my references.
